In a land that never was, housed four people that never were. Drifting on the light waves of ghost stars, these cosmic cowboys have but one intention: to create a musical score for the impending interstellar apocalypse.

“The name “Oregon Space Trail of Doom” sounds like it belongs to some noise/rock band who played at the Euclid Tavern in the 90s. In reality, it’s the handle of a new four-piece two guitar/bass/drums ensemble that plays guitar-driven poppy hard rock (or as they call it “supersonic rock”) that could be enjoyed by a wide range of rockers. With Nolan Cavano and Ryan Fletterick on guitar and vocals, Nick Yanasko on bass and vocals, and Tony Kazel on drums, the local group began a year and a half ago as a trio, expanded into a quartet of, in their own words, “cosmic cowboys [with] but one intention: to create a musical score for the impending interstellar apocalypse.”

“With a sound that can only be properly described as absolute psychedelic madness, Oregon Space Trail of Doom’s heady jams recall some of the most forward-thinking and experimental artists of the genre. Their sound is best described as flavors of Syd Barrett with a modern approach akin to the mad kings of microtonal rock, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.”

“The group carries its own unique psychedelic-fuzz sound that can only be compared to Australian rockers King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard in the way that both groups are able to texture their songs into other dimensions with spacey guitar effects and mystical lyrics.”
