Ancient River, led by singer/songwriter James Barreto, is a dynamic blend of rock, psychedelia, and Americana. Originating in the American South and now rooted in the Californian sun, James has earned acclaim through extensive touring, appearing at prestigious events like SXSW, Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia, and Austin Psych Fest.

Barreto's musical journey began in 2000 with instrumental band The Ohm, recording on a 4-track tape recorder and evolving into a thriving home studio. In 2008, Ancient River was born, releasing albums that showcased a range from dreamy acoustic (e.g., "Under The Sun") to heavier psych-rock (e.g., "O.D.D.S."). The years following brought a consistent flow of releases, including a move to London in 2013, where Barreto gained recognition with albums like "Before the Dawn" and "Keeper Of The Dawn." Returning to the U.S. in 2016, Ancient River delivered stellar performances and releasing the 11th album, "After The Dawn," in 2020 on vinyl through Little Cloud Records. The subsequent three years saw the release of albums like "Live in Chicago," "O.D.D.S. 3," "Ancient History" and the upcoming "Green Guitars" in December 2023.
